Rich McCor (aka Paperboyo) has an uncanny ability to see the quirky and fun in existing structures. The Brighton-based artist and photographer (previously) creates amusing scenes with precise angles and black paper cutouts, using tourist attractions, landmarks, and urban settings as backdrops: the Arc de Triomphe transforms into a massive LEGO figure, an upside down shot of Regent Street transforms into a boat canal, and the King’s Place facade functions as individual swimming lanes. McCor travels a lot to photograph his temporary silhouettes, but in recent months he’s been concentrating on local areas. Next up are the Netherlands, New York, and Taipei.
