Who cares about discarded nuts, bolts, washers and metal, scraps? Well, Michel Torres Costa does; and he cares about them a lot, for this amazing sculptor from Brazil makes something really unique out of the discarded metal scraps, bolts and nuts.
Michel Torres Costa sculpts awe-inspiring and detailed metal sculptures out of the waste material. In true sense, someone else’s trash is Costa’s treasure.
Originally a welder by profession, Torres Costa realized that creating these sculptures would act as a creative vent in his monotonous job, and thus he started taking up molding courses that led him to where he is today.
Torres Costa uses epoxy resin and considers any and every piece of scrap to be usable in his art. A large part of his art includes animal and human figures. His first creation was a horse that he made using chains, ratchets and motorcycle crown in a relative’s mechanic shop.
His art is a great fit for home, galleries and even hotels, etc. In fact, the possibilities for his creativity are endless.
