Initially a carpenter by profession, Salavat Fidai from Russia is now known to carve out extremely detailed sculptures on pencil leads. Yes, you got to see it to believe it.
While Salavat also paints on matchboxes, seeds, etc., his sculptures made on pencil leads are a must-see. He says he is curious about miniature things and uses his X-ACTO knife for this detailed art.
Fidai’s art is not easy to recreate, for one has to have deeper understanding of the pressure that a pencil lead can bear, and, of course, there is no margin for any error in his case.
