Anna Chan, a jeweller and fashion designer, made the best of a bad circumstance. The New York-based artist visited Robert Moses State Park, where she spent her days relaxing on the beach. She started sand sculpting there because she wanted to make 12 art pieces for a calendar in 2021. Creating gorgeous, symmetrical mosaics and real-life animal pictures quickly became a “obsession.”
It appears that many of us discovered new hobbies and intriguing things to do during the pandemic. Some of us picked up essential skills like cooking and gardening, were interested in a healthy lifestyle and began participating in sports outside, or went to our creative side and began painting or creating DIY projects. Because the range of activities was limited and travel was out of the question, we all had to get inventive.
